2026 Michigan Construction Career Days

Building the Future

At R.L. Coolsaet Construction, we believe the future of our industry starts by inspiring the next generation. That is why we are proud to celebrate the 2026 Michigan Construction Career Days, an outstanding event where contractors, industry leaders, and educators come together to introduce students in 7th through 12th grade to the exciting opportunities available in the skilled trades.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Builders

Michigan Construction Career Days gives students hands-on exposure to the many careers that help build and maintain our communities. We had employees onsite giving students the chance to operate a pipelayer, learn about the 4 different trades employed at Coolsaet, and get the chance to see firsthand how rewarding a career in construction can be.

These experiences help young people understand that the skilled trades offer:

  • Strong earning potential

  • Career stability and long-term demand

  • Opportunities for advancement

  • Hands-on, meaningful work

  • The ability to build and improve local communities

Why Skilled Trades Matter

The construction industry plays a critical role in Michigan’s economy. Roads, utilities, pipelines, schools, and commercial developments all rely on a skilled workforce to get the job done safely and efficiently.

As many experienced tradespeople approach retirement, events like Michigan Construction Career Days are more important than ever. They help students discover career paths that may not always be highlighted in traditional education settings.

R.L. Coolsaet’s Commitment to Workforce Development

As a family-owned pipeline construction contractor serving Michigan since 1936, R.L. Coolsaet Construction is committed to supporting the next generation of skilled professionals. We are proud to participate in events that showcase the value of hard work, craftsmanship, teamwork, and safety.

Whether a student is interested in operating equipment, working outdoors, solving technical challenges, or building a lifelong career, the skilled trades offer a path worth exploring.

Building Tomorrow Starts Today

We thank everyone who helps make Michigan Construction Career Days a success—organizers, schools, contractors, instructors, and the students who attend with curiosity and enthusiasm.

The future of construction is bright, and it starts with investing in young people today.
